You can have the kind of change Don Cox experienced by confessing the sins that often overtake you and placing your full trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of all your sins (Romans 10:9).
Changes in your attitudes and actions can be immediate, as Don’s were. This is especially true when the Spirit has brought conviction about your selfishness and your sins. Do not detour around the godly sorrow that God requires for true change: This is repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
After your experience with the Lord, some of the old weaknesses and temptations may return, as they did with Don. Prepare yourself for this by reading God’s Word and studying often with strong Christians. Ask God to fill you with the fruits of the Holy Spirit, put His whole armor on you, and lead you in loving service to others. On this path of spiritual growth and strength, you can walk for a lifetime (Ephesians 5:2, 18; 6:10-20).
